  8. Rads ical says:

They’re really falling for each other. This episode warmed my heart because Kang Doo has put on a brave face in front of Moon Soo for most of the show, but he finally broke down and sought comfort from her. The final scene broke my heart cause it was him questioning how she could be ok when they went through the same tragedy while at the same time asking her if she’s sure she’s actually ok because he can see that she’s putting on a front too when inside she’s also hurt and damaged. Him hugging her was his way to gain strength from her. These two characters are able to relate to each other in a way they can’t to others because they can understand the trauma and tragedy. Moon Soo holds it in, she acts normal and hides her suffering. Kang Doo lashes out and screams at the world. Together they can find the perfect balance to cope and heal.

    • dutchessdioji says:

Do you think she’s really putting on a front? I think she is partly okay because she has some memory loss and he finally found out when her friend told him. I think him asking her is she really okay is just to confirm that she’s really “okay.”

      • Rads ical says:

That is a possible interpretation and I thought that too. But I really think she’s not as ok as she think she is. I feel like she suppresses a lot of guilt. She may not remember everything but she remembers bits and pieces. The reason I think she has somewhat of a front is the fact that she doesn’t have anyone to express her pain with. She has to be the strong one for her mom. Plus it’s been implied that she feels bad for getting her first love to be there at the accident site and she blames herself for separating from her sister and being mean to her. The biggest indicator for me that she’s suppressing things was in episode 6 when she reared up after her mom’s freak out and quickly tried to brush away the tears. Actually the only time she’s shown strong emotions was when her mom tried to commit suicide. Plus she still has nightmares and can’t ride elevators and has other signs of PTSD which is why I think she’s also not ok. I think their coping mechanisms are vastly different and in a way it does appear that Moon Soo is more well adjusted, but that doesn’t mean she’s dealing with her trauma in a healthy way or that she’s not suffering. Plus if she regains her memories there’s going to be a massive emotional fallout I imagine. Anyway sorry for righting an essay, I’m just rambling cause I can’t sleep

      • Rads ical says:

I do think Kang Doo’s how are you ok was more about how can she be so seemingly well adjusted when he’s an emotional mess when they went through the same thing. Kang Doo did suffer worse tho since he wasn’t rescued till the last day, didn’t get compensation, lost both his parents (eventually), had to support his family and pay for hospital bills. Poor kid couldn’t catch a break after that accident. Plus his sister is an ungrateful brat

        • dutchessdioji says:

I like that you upvoted your comment. :)

        • JustMe says:

Im not sure Kang Doo is worse off. Maybe equivalently hurt to Moon Soo. In fact, before reading your comments, I thought her feelings were worse off (i now think theyre equal in suffering). Moon Soo definitely feels more guilt that Kang Doo. She might not remember being trapped but she suffers side effects from it (youve written clearly aboug it so i wont go any further). Moon Soo feels guilty over two people she cared about, while Kang Doo feels guilty over a stranger. Moon Soo is trapped in grief from her family. point is, i think they suffer equally but differently. But, funnily enough, theyre suffering is not so different.

    • Iwan Ridwan says:

yesss, moon soo just feel comfortable and getting attracted to him, kang doo remind her everything in accident but he cannot make her more sad. such a beautiful drama to heal each other a compassion that grows in person we love so much. just like the title, just between lovers.

  9. Rads ical says:

It’s the little moments in their romance that I appreciate. Like the fact that he’s such a dork when he met the mom. “Why did I flee, it’s not like a committed a crime.” And then he touched his lips clearly thinking about the kiss. Methinks he feels guilty for seducing their beloved daughter. The scene in the office where he talks about how a lot of his time is “trash” because he wastes it and Moon Soo gets annoyed, “how can one persons time be trash? It’s not about the person time, it’s about the way you spend that time.” I loved her for that line and you could see Kang Doo falling more in love with her with that statement. The moment she took his hand in the beginning and her small hand fit perfectly into his. The moment she worried and checked if he was hurt even though he said he was ok, the moment where he freaked out because she was hurt and kept asking if her head was ok. Watching these two come together without grand romantic gestures is beautiful and refreshing. The slow burn is natural and warm, perfect for the winter.

    • kjk says:

      Ok, I’m gonna watch it raaaww… <3 <3 <3

    • tsinita says:

I loved the opening of this episode! I was like “ah yes! This was where left of!”

    • Naru22 says:

Yes!!! Really their caring towards each other is so heart warming!!! They are so cute!!!

    • paradox.of.fate says:

You nailed it! Obviously with all the upvotes, you described what we all were feeling. It is methodical (almost said slow, which might’ve been taken as boring) in how the writer took the approach in which these 2 people fall in love. Timing for everything has been concise and well thought out. Probably the best love story in my history of kdramas. It’s far from the cliche dramas and yet works its way into your heart and soul. ;)

  10. tsinita says:

I love this drama. I just have one issue with it. Why is she leading on her boss when she obviously has a thing going on with Gang Doo? I hope the writer is not trying to set up a love triangle. There is this pull and push tension going on between Moon Soo and her boss Seo and I don’t like it at all. Her entertaining and caring for boss Seo seems out of character. I see it as form of disloyalty.

    • Rads ical says:

Yeah I didn’t like it Either. I tried to justify it saying that she really didn’t intend to go inside, but I still don’t like it lol

    • paradox.of.fate says:

Totally agree, it makes me uncomfortable. But if it makes us uncomfortable, then the writers/actors and directors are doing their job. She is just like Gang Doo, caring and compassionate. She sees a person struggling and can’t ignore her concern, but she also hesitates. An indication that she doesn’t want to give him the wrong idea maybe?

  11. stephie says:

OMG I’m so thankful that this got subbed faster than ever!

  12. dutchessdioji says:

Why do I keep thinking that the female young doctor who’s the sister of Lee Gang Doo could be the younger sister of Ha Moon Soo? I think it’s because when she saw Ha Moon Soo she said, “Have we met before?”

  13. Athena Gliddon says:

It is too bad that this show isn’t enjoying the ratings it deserves. I find the romance heartwarming without spilling over into cheesy.

    • Iwan Ridwan says:

yes yes yes, why korean people dont watch it, whyyyyyyyyyyyy?
it is really good melodrama, i never watch a youth melodrama with so many romance and compassion before, it is very rare…..
i really hope the happy ending because i’m really sad for gangdoo and moonso.

  14. Nimi says:

really, we cannot know how a person hurting from inside though they look fine from out.

  15. shaco sleepwalker says:

    Yet another touching episode

  16. Nor Ahmed says:

They have different coping mechanism… maybe Moon So forgetting bits of what happened is her way that’s why she seems fine. But Gang Doo remembers everything and years of living in that memory have taken their toll on him. ❤😢

  17. Iwan Ridwan says:

i really love it when dramahood subs jugglers and just between lovers so fast. my two favorite dramas, it balance happiness and sadness hehe

  18. Iwan Ridwan says:

Hoo, so junho actually remembers anything related the accident but he dont want to tell won jin a because he remember her boyfriend died backt hen that hallucinates him more and he doesnt want to add the sadness of accident to her. he is really good guy.
hmm, i really cant stand seeing won jin a sad, such a nice but partially amnestiac girl with PTSD for so long, a good man must want to protect a girl like her T_T, just director please make her smile, she is naturally so beautiful in this drama :)

  19. Iwan Ridwan says:

i just want to see junho and won jin ah keep dating like this…i’m really touched by them, at least they happy together :)

  20. Girrlit says:

This drama gets me in the feels EVERY. DARN. TIME

  21. Iwan Ridwan says:

a very powerful romance-melodrama that can help to treat a pain and suffering, showing compassion that we give to the person we love, just like the title, just between lovers. this drama is truly wonderful :)

    • paradox.of.fate says:

Sorry didn’t mean to copy your comment, didn’t read any of the comments before giving my 2 cents. lol, We obviously see the same compassion in his character. It’s my number one when it comes to finding an individual attractive. Great minds… :D

      • Iwan Ridwan says:

yes, no proble hehe. i love this drama a lot, for years i never watched youth melodrama that has many romance and healing process in it, it is really valuable for me.
        you like this drama too?

        • paradox.of.fate says:

Love it! By far one of the better dramas, from the great acting (way above par) to the writing, it’s one of my faves along with “Wise Prison Life”. They are considered sleepers, but the quality is exceptional.

          • Iwan Ridwan says:

yesss agree, i want to watch the whole of wise prison life too…..
WPL has a great rating for cable tv, i hope Just between lovers will get more rating too, it is really great drama

  22. paradox.of.fate says:

Watching him struggle with those memories and reaching out to her, doesn’t it make you want to hug him and not let go? Hard not to fall in love with such a compassionate caring guy, who just happens to be beautiful inside and out! ;)

  23. JustMe says:

I know the second lead was drunk but I have a hard time forgiving him for what he was about to do with the lady. Sorry, no more chemistry with the female lead. I love her too much forer to be with a guy like that. It’s sounds mean but I really can’t stand him anymore after what he did

  24. DyingtobeinKorea says:

I am so loving this show, but there are so many sad moments and I think they are outweighing the romance. I hope the crying ends :(

    • paradox.of.fate says:

awww me too. Tears at your heart doesn’t it? I see you changed your profile pic? Is that for your “New year”? Hope you had an enjoyable, relaxing holiday and you started your new year they way you wanted to. ;)

      • DyingtobeinKorea says:

Hey there Yeah I changed my pic to Jonghyun from SHINee I just can’t grasp the idea that he is gone. Having a hard time with it. My NY was so so I was alone again, my plans got screwed and I stayed home. How about you?

        • paradox.of.fate says:

Love your tribute. You know how it affected me, lasted at least 3 or 4 days, still cant wrap my head around it. :(
I was alone but my sons joined me and my youngest invited his girlfriend over. We ended up having a pretty good time playing board games. At least there was laughter. No better way to bring in a year right? Haven’t had too much of it in the last few years, so maybe this will be a good omen to start a year with laughter? Work has slowed down this week finally, but all I’ve done is move “shit” from rental house to storage unit and from camper to rental. Discovered the landlord never cleaned and there is residue of previous tenants (mice!). Needless to say nothing has been unpacked until I meet with the landlord. So you could say my plans were screwed too. lol I wont be staying here long. At least there are no more critters, but STILL!! They rushed me into moving in and I’m dealing with this? Argh! Sorry, just seems if it’s not one thing… well you know how the story goes.
Let’s hope we stick with the year of laughter, k? ;)

          • DyingtobeinKorea says:

Mice? that’s gross but I guess better than roaches lol sorry not funny at all Wherever do we find these people? Me I have been calling head office downtown and no one calls back, so tomorrow I am gonna call the real head office in Toronto, and them fuckers had better fix the problem in this apartment building! Oh did I mention that the idiots down the hall brought in bedbugs? Supposedly they want to keep it on the down low and not have the entire floor know smfh But one of the workers told me so now I am freaking out! I went and bought that powder stuff and put it everywhere to keep those things out! Damn this place.
As for Jonghyun it’s gonna take me more than 3 days, I have downloaded every song every video I could find and I cannot stop crying. I know I know I am nuts, I didn’t even know the man blah blah. But it’s not even about whether I knew him on a personal level, it’s about the fact that we lost another soul who wasn’t met to die. Anyway blah blah happiness is overrated argh

          • paradox.of.fate says:

lol You sound just like me after you told me the news. Remember? I was full of what the southerners call “piss & vinegar” hahaha. Went thru the whole range of emotions which we know is part of the mourning process. I’m better this week. Even watched the funeral and cried all day. Discussed it with my oldest son since he was a witness to my crazy. But it bothered me after hearing he was 27. (Heard to much about the 27 club) Wondered if the same thought crossed his mind like it did Kurt Cobain of Nirvana? I made myself stop after my mind went reeling out of control with that thought and the realization that we have had too much loss and we are now without such talented beautiful people.
Anyhoo, sorry about your critters, lol and yes it’s easier to laugh than to cry. Besides you always manage to make smile, which I’m grateful for. Go get em tiger!! I will be doing the same. ;)

          • DyingtobeinKorea says:

Critters? my Critters?? I thank gawd I ain’t got any !! I never have and never will!!! They have em’ don the hall lol I protected myself o freaking way am I getting this shit
I hope for your sake you move quickly somewhere safe and quiet as well. :) Not sure what his thought process was except for that he was in pain and he didn’t think he could be happy. I don'[t think he thought about the repercussions his death would cause and if he did he didn’t calculate very well. alrighty enough sad talk onward Judge vs Judge lol

          • paradox.of.fate says:

Yep, just finished the first one, no surprises. :( Glad you have no critters of any kind. Even when I go to hotels, I’m super cautious. Don’t care much for anything that crawls. lol
To change the subject, hate that there will be a break in broadcasting new dramas for one of the stations. Loved having so many options. Guess I will be perusing for some of the older dramas and binge a few of those after these are done. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Have yet to see Six Flying Dragons, but love all the actors, maybe this will take over the gap for me? What do ya think?

          • DyingtobeinKorea says:

Six flying is one of my fav dramas you gotta watch it!!!! 50 eps though lol The hiatus ends this week lol so you had better catch up with that show fast lol

          • paradox.of.fate says:

hahaha, maybe a little difficult since I go back to work all weekend. But based on your recommendation it will be first on my list. Ty!! ;)

          • DyingtobeinKorea says:

You should really log into that site I belong to and check out what I have watched and the rating I gave lol

          • paradox.of.fate says:

Maybe tomorrow since my dryer just died and will be going back to the laundry mat. Oh joy! hahaha

          • DyingtobeinKorea says:

            Oh no! Good luck!

          • paradox.of.fate says:

Forgot to tell ya,watched a few good movies. Have you seen “A Taxi Driver” or “A Day”? They finally got subbed.

          • DyingtobeinKorea says:

I’ve seen a taxi driver and it was fantastic, a day? A day of what? Bananas? Pie? Sex? What? Lol

          • paradox.of.fate says:

hahaha, now I gotta go back and find out.

          • DyingtobeinKorea says:

While I was waiting for u to answer I looked into “a day” lol the subs are shit so watch A taxi driver Battleship island Villainess oumph there are a few that are well subbed

          • paradox.of.fate says:

          • DyingtobeinKorea says:

yep saw them will give u a list hang on

          • paradox.of.fate says:

We are so similar! hahaha. I wish I had time many years ago to keep the list, it’s just hard to fathom the time it would take me to go thru and remember all of them now? Too many years. :(

          • DyingtobeinKorea says:

Snowy Road (new) The Swindlers (new) The Oulaws (new) Midnight runners was hilarious Taxi driver fantastic Not sure if you saw a werewolf boy or Vanishing Time: A Boy Who Returned both fantastic Lucid dream was meh Secretly greatly was fantastic miracle in cell 7 10/10 northern limit line No breathing

          • paradox.of.fate says:

Agree!!! Still havent seen Snowy Road, but the rest I have seen. I loved the werewolf boy. Saw it a few years ago maybe and the vanishing time was excellent! I think I have seen all of the war movies. Went on a kick last year when I came across my fathers medals from the Korean war. Have you seen “Long road home”? I laugh til I cry and then cry some more. Have watched it with a few of my sisters. They also loved “Twenty” which is hilarious. I will try to go back and find some others that worth noteworthy. :D

          • paradox.of.fate says:

  26. Iwan Ridwan says:

many people comment in this drama, but why the ratings T_T. It is really powerful romance melodrama, please korean people give a chance watching, the rating is very small. i hope the ratings will go high. i really love the drama especially the leads and the story….
i’m very sad for moonsoo and gangdoo and i love it when they happy together.. please writer gives the happy ending….

  27. PoshKitty says:

I can see this mother of hers is going to be a problem for this romance. She refuses to let her daughter be happy and live life as anyone her age should.
