The characters are puppets used by the writer to communicate their message through an entertainment media. There is a lack of sensitivity of this writer to exaggerate and celebrate the ugliness of life. Too bad the story line can be used to serve as lessons for Yi that there is nothing wrong in loving one’s self enough to warrant respect.
A 125 episode drama seems to use makjang and tropes way too much that it actually stifles the writer.
There are now writer’s who have successfully have higher ratings while moving away from the makjang and tropes blueprint.
