I stopped watching regular TV in the USA because of the same issue. HATE IT!! But, keep in mind, those chains haven’t been over there as long as we have had to endure it. So it’s kinda a new thing for them, but I feel ya. ARGH! lol
Yeah I guess your right, I forget sometimes how the big chains slowly go overseas. When I was 19 going on 20 I went to visit my Aunt and cousins in Portugal and they had just opened the very first McDonald’s LOL The line started on the 3rd floor of the shopping mall where it was situated all the way down to the parking ground LOL I had never seen such a line in my life and I was damned if I stayed to get a Big Mac LOL I went back in 2007, 16 years later and I finally tried it, let me tell you, it WAS SO MUCH BETTER!!! Made a pit stop in Athens too and it was great there too.
As for watching US tv shows, well I still have a few but I stream everything so zero commercials :)
So what country/state do you live in? Gotta say, after reading your comment I was super jealous of your traveling!! So many places I want to see, but too busy running 2 businesses to even think about it yet. Maybe when I can finally retire. :( Btw, just like you, I dont do anything but stream also, and 95% are Kdramas. I am in Montreal,Canada born and raised, Been to Portugal 4 times in my life, 3 times with my parents and once in 2007 alone, but I left for Greece to work but it went awry. Stayed in a village with a tiny store that opened at 6pm and closed at 6am lol it sold everything and anything under the sun including booze haha, then I left for Athens stayed there for two days and left for Lisbon. Stayed for two months and came home. I have never been to Asia, never been to the west coast, been to the east coast Maritime’s, Boston, NYC and Charleston WV that’s it. I have been on medical leave for a while now, so income is shit. One day I will win the lottery LOL Seoul Here I come!

Raised in Indiana, then moved to Cincinnati, OH for a few years, (Great city to have fun when your 18 to 20 yrs old!) Moved to North Carolina 30 years now? Been to NYC, FL, Cali, Vegas 12 times. lol The Bahamas and a cruise are the only times I left the country. :( Also dealing with medical issues. I will email maybe tomorrow, gotta finish a job first. I just knew we had similarities. ;)
