I think he does appreciate what she is to him, he said to his “real” mother that he wanted MY, his dad and him to be a real family again. He is jus like a child who wants his divorced parents to go back together. He must have gone through hard times with his “real” mother so he certainly wants to protect what he has now. I don’t think he wants her to remain unmarried because of his love for her. I think he is in it for the money. Hope later he finds out that she loves him still as much and wants him to be happy and fulfilled. I can understand others saying he may feel insecure, but I still think he has a lot of greed mixed in it. I don’t think he sees his “mother” the way you see your mother.
Certainly, a Mother should consider her children when she considers getting into a relationship. That person has to interact with the rest of her family and she must consider the welfare of her children as well. That’s why sometimes love does not work out because the Mom sees that the person may not be able to be a good father.
I think is this case, the step-son could use some tough love from PSB. MY brings out the fire in PSB – he becomes a better man.
