I’m curious who Hyunseok is and how was Lee Sun able to get a loyal/trustworthy guard/protector inside the palace. He knew everything about Lee Sun. Five years has passed and we have no idea of what happened to Lee Sun while Pyunsoo Group used him as their puppet king. Was he able to read and study like what he wanted? Was he able to gain a little bit of confidence at least? By the looks of it, Lee Sun was stuck in that same period we left him off 5 years ago. I hope there will be some improvement with his character. I mean even though he is being used by Daemok, he should have used the time to gather knowledge and information and thought of ways to eliminate their group, IMO.
Oh my gosh I thought the same thing. On the outside as poor commoner Lee Sun he loved learning. I thought he would use that to his advantage since as a king you have to know something but every time he sees that signal at the bottom of the orders he backs down.
Right? Master Woo Bo said he is smart. I was hoping he’s got sense in him to at least make an advantage of the situation but it hurts me how pathetic and weak he still is against Dae Mok. He even thought of taking his own life. I know he’s suffering, but even as a puppet king he still has power now compared to just being the peasant Lee Sun.
At the other early episode the royal guard that loyal to him said that he save his father as one of the water thief and he is pathetic and weak in front of Dea Mok because he needed poppy wien (the circular candy/medicine)to survive since he went as the prince to the initiation ceremony and drink that to join Dea Mok group and who doesnt be afraid if you saw in front of you that Dea Mok killed the previous King
I’m not sure if you already watched episode 19 and 20 by the time of this writing but I’m pretty sure this will be the start for Lee Sun (I’m referring to the fake king) to turn the table and go against Dae Mok, or at least I’m hoping…
i’ve watched ep 19 and 20 and it didn’t look like that’s going to happen anytime soon..i hate that the preview looks like he’s becoming a jerk, he might be thinking that the real crown prince is enjoying his freedom as a commoner and just left him in the palace.. i hope he’s not blinded by his feelings for Ga Eun, I’m not even sure if he really loves her. anyway, let’s see what’s going to happen next.
by the looks of it, I think he’s already blinded and on his way to becoming the jerk of the century… but a part of me is still hoping he’s not ahahahaha…. sue me for hoping too much
Why is this King always slouched? It is so annoying, Every show I have seen L in, he’s always standing slouched!!!! Oumph so freaking stupid to have someone stand like that all the time!!!

ep 21&22 got me like “oh no is myung going to turn into an a**hole?” we hope for the same thing LOL

He is loyal because Lee Sun saved his father when he had the people that were supposed to be hanged for stealing water released.

Are you referring at the time when they deliberated about the coin? I believe the throne was covered with curtain during that time.
