I watched this show randomly on a whim. But it’s quickly become one of my favorite dramas of all time. It’s beautiful in its tragedy, warm in its melancholy, cute in its sorrow. The writers of this show have done such a wonderful job building this world and characters. Every character has such depths. Moon Soo and Kang Doo are real people, people for whom I can understand and interpret their actions and emotions. Even the “villains” aren’t actually villains, they too are prisoners of self. Even my least favorite character (ceo), had such depth so I can’t hate him completely. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a drama this beautifully written. I’ve never seen drama writers so capable of creating characters so 3 dimensional. The acting in this show was phenomenal. Every actor/actress did an incredible job. Special shoutout to Won Jin Ah and Junho who are both new to being leads, but they led the show with maturity and emotion. They brought the characters to life and it didn’t even seem like acting, it felt REAL. Even the minor characters like Sang Man and grannie and dimples were wonderful and deep in their own way. They made the world of this drama colorful. The cinematography was breathtaking. The OST magnificent at bringing forth my feelings. The attention to detail from the makeup artists and other crew members was amazing. The lighting was on point. The sound mixing was fabulous. Every element of the crew and cast came together to make this drama beautiful.
couldn’t agree more. well written review. this drama is THAT powerful in which even if the writer decided to kill Kangdoo (which now i think they won’t) i won’t regret it because it is beautifully made. every aspect just delivered on point.
I forgot to mention logic. I usually hate noble idiocy and leads running away but for the first time in a drama I found everything logical. There were no silly or unnecessary misunderstandings like in other dramas.
I even love ghe the little details of logic such as Kangdoo broken old samsung corby’s phone (lmao) and his sweater that he’s been wearing almost for every episode. I love that little details the most. Ahh I’m sad it’s gonna ends 😭
Wow, your review’s totally on point. Exactly what I had in mind and more. It’s just that I can never write it like you do. Kudos to everyone involved in the drama. Definitely one of the best!
i couldn’t agree more!!! this drama is just really good <3 the word good is not even enough… i would say more than perfect <3 <3 it logical and it's realistic!!! i have so much emotions and words to describe this drama but i can't put the pieces together!!!!!!! btw have any of you watched uncontrollably fond and is it recommended???
its sad but realistic because they both have trauma and they have similarities and they are trying to get through it together but its worth it especially the progress and the enging <3 <3
How sure are we that the writers of this show are not demons? I’m watching Hwayugi and I’m pretty sure that the writers of this show are demons who feast on the tears of their viewers. They should be the next villain of the week on Hwayugi. I’m fairly certain they are demons, why else would they try to wring every last tear and emotion from me? Right? They’re demons
Moon Soo has saved him so many times. I know people are mad at her because of her reaction since it’s hurting Kang Doo. I can’t be mad though. I know she has a tendency to blame herself for everything anyway and this doesn’t help because when she looks at him she feels terrible and guilty. It’s KD’s job to stick to her like she did to him and explain that it’s not her fault. From a psychological standpoint her reaction makes perfect sense. Her feelings are very complicated. She was first shocked and upset and whenever that happens she likes to run away and think alone. She also feels guilty. She blames herself for the death of her first love. She also knows that KD’s biggest trauma probably comes from the fact that he was trapped with a body for days. Now that she found out her first love was that body she is starting to blame herself for KD’s trauma too. She also is probably a bit upset that KD didn’t tell her. He doesn’t talk about his trauma much but this time it concerns her again and he didn’t tell her so she is probably also feeling a tiny bit betrayed (but more guilty). So she’s feeling shocked, confused, scared, angry, betrayed and guilty so that’s why I think her instinct is to run away. It’s only natural. When Kang Doo hugged her and desperately said I love you it broke my heart. Moon Soo has also always had to deal with emotions alone. She could never show so many emotions in front of her mother because her mother is too deep into her trauma. She couldn’t go to her father because he was dealing with things alone, doesn’t seem like a big talker and she would feel guilty going to him over her mom. So whenever confronted with strong emotions she always either held it in or would go somewhere to deal with it alone. But Kang Doo has grown so much, he knows he needs her as much as she needs him and isn’t willing to let her run away right now because he can sense that something is wrong. He’s worried for her and worried that if she runs away it could be the end of their happiness. He is hugging her to keep her there and to get her to tell him what’s wrong. He’s letting her know she doesn’t have to deal with these emotions silently on her own. I don’t think she’s ever had anyone sit down and tell her it’s not her fault either (I’ve always suspected her mom partly blamed MS and her dad isn’t one for words, he’ll shift the blame to others but I doubt he ever told her clearly that it’s not her fault). Kang Doo is looking her in the eyes and explaining to her why it’s not her fault. He’s not just placating her, he genuinely believes it’s not her fault and is explaining why clearly and calmly so that she understands.

Kangdoo probably won’t die. I guess they goes on a date first, then he faint. proceed to the ambulance scene. after that, they might be searching for donor or something… Moonsoo want to help him but she’s not a family member and she want to marry him (because i heard the word ‘georon’ (marry).. Then she will wait for his recovery thus the scene at the hospital.
that is the only info we get from tomorrow finale preview. Finger crossed !!!!
OH why oh why did I watch this today?? UGHHHH now I’m sittin here mad cause I NEED to know the ending like now. If you haven’t watched this epi yet WAIT UNTIL EPI 16 drops and is subbed……carry on.
Best korean melodrama i have ever watched, i really appreciate it
i really sad how trauma keep engulfing kangdoo and moonso and make them suffering until now. it teaches us what is truly lies in the heart of two people that love each other, like the title said, it is just between lovers.
Best drama… Although it is sad to watch the trauma in almost all the characters.. Most important thing is they deserve to be happy after been through all this struggle..
When he breaks down and starts yelling “Why? Isn’t this too much?” I bawled. All I kept thinking was if I was a passerby he wouldn’t have had to endure it by himself at least. Even as a stranger I would’ve reached out and have many times. T-T
This is the second to the last episode. I will miss this tandem . KD and MS.. I’d been carried how Moon Soo cried because she remembered how Kang Doo saved her. That torns me apart. .

Underrated is the word to describe this drama. Can’t believe that the episode has not been subbed yet… so sad.
